Craig Stone

Craig currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Public Safety for the city of Columbus, Ohio.  Craig previously served as Chief of Police for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Ohio State University.

UPD Officers Patrol Campus Around-the-Clock

Our new Chief of Police will be a highly visible member of the senior leadership of the university, and will uphold the highest ideals of transparency, respect, integrity, inclusion, and innovation. The Chief will routinely interact with community members, organizations, and institutions across the region, state, and nation.

The Chief of Police reports directly to the Vice President for Finance Support Services and works closely with the University Police Department staff, campus constituents, and the local community to promote a safe and secure environment for Texas State University.

UPD is one of the nine departments serving the TXST community within the Division of Finance and Support Services. Comprised of more than 500 dedicated staff, the division is committed to providing a challenging, enriching and safe work environment while maintaining fiscal and statutory integrity.
