Engaging our Community

UPD is excited to engage with the Bobcat Community. Chances are, you will run into one of our officers on campus— we enjoy meeting you and hearing about your goals and dreams as a Texas State student. We're also coming to you at different university events throughout the semester, and we invite you to join us for a cup of coffee or some fresh popped popcorn. You never know what we're brewing up, so pop in to see us!

Focusing on Connection

Chief Matt hosts a virtual "Chat with the Chief" for our students, faculty, and staff,  featuring valuable community policing information and the latest safety updates.  This is also an opportunity for students to meet with their police chief.  This session is held the first Wednesday of every month at noon via Zoom live from Harris Dining on campus.

Chief Matt also hosts a monthly "Chat with the Chief" for our Bobcat parents.  This is a good opportunity for parents to hear about safety on campus and an opportunity to meet with their student's police chief directly.  This session is held the first Wednesday of every month via Zoom at 6:00pm CST.

To register for either event please click the link below.  You will receive an email prior to the event with the Zoom link.

Sincerely,

Chief Matt

Prioritizing Your Safety

UPD offers the Texas State University community a variety of safety training classes.

These classes range from standard response protocol procedures and personal safety presentations, to identity theft training.
