Evidence

The Texas State University Police Department Evidence Unit is responsible for maintaining, storing, and disposing of all property and evidence taken into custody by the Texas State University Police Department. Property taken as evidence is carefully guarded to maintain chain of custody.

The evidence department is responsible for the disposal of property and evidence, including but not limited to the return of property to the rightful owner or disposal as prescribed by law. The department operates in accordance with Texas statutes and Texas State University Policy.

Evidence personnel are the only members of the department who are authorized to release property and can only do so in conformance with laws and policies. Should you wish to recover your property, please fill out the form below to start the process of scheduling an appointment time.

If you need to request record information, you will need to go through our records division. Records will be released by appointment only.

Appropriate identification will be required and additional proof of ownership may be required to reclaim property.

Please note, this form is an appointment request, not an appointment. Someone from evidence will contact you after completing the form.
